7 Equal Opportunities members reappointed

Equal Opportunities Commision

The Chief Executive has reappointed seven Equal Opportunities Commission members for one year with effect from May 20. The appointment notice will be gazetted on May 21.

The seven are:

* John Robertson Budge;

* Dr Joseph Kwok;

* Peggy Lam;

* Li Fung-ying;

* Dr Raymond Wu;

* Peter Yeung; and,

* Jessie Yu.

The Government said the reappointments will facilitate the work of the independent panel of inquiry and allow it time to implement any recommendations to restore the commission's credibility before considering the next round of appointments.

The Government has appointed a three-person independent panel of inquiry on the incidents relating to the commission. The panel will submit its report by February 15.
