Secretary for Constitutional Affairs Stephen Lam says the Government has not discussed with Mainland Authorities specific proposals for taking forward constitutional development in Hong Kong beyond 2007.
Mr Lam said today the Constitutional Development Task Force is focusing on public discussion regarding principles in the Basic Law about constitutional development and matters of legislative process.
The task force needs to lay a good foundation so as to provide a platform for handling our constitutional development beyond 2007, he said.
