Constitutional meeting to start after Lunar New Year
*

The Hong Kong & Macau Affairs Office has agreed to arrange a meeting with the task force Chief Secretary Donald Tsang heads immediately after the Chinese New Year to discuss matters of principles and procedures under the Basic Law concerning Hong Kong's constitutional development.

Speaking to reporters this afternoon, Mr Tsang said the Government has issued a paper which sets out the matters of concern to people at large to the Legislative Council's Constitutional Affairs Panel for discussion.

Hoping the paper will form a basis for public discussion, Mr Tsang said it has been posted onto the Government website.

Public's views to be 'fully reflected'

He urged people to discuss the document rationally and deeply and promised that he is going to relay what he has heard, and what he is going to hear, to the Central Government.

"I am not going to interpret them in any way. I think it is my job to make sure that their views will be fully reflected, " Mr Tsang noted.
