Popular polls: Electoral Affairs Commission Chairman Justice Woo Kwok-hing expects an exciting battle among candidates for the 2003 District Council Elections.
*

The District Council elections results should be out by 2am on Monday, the Electoral Affairs Commission Chairman says.

Speaking on RTHK's Party Line, Justice Woo Kwok-hing said that the polling stations will be turned into counting stations right after the election on Sunday evening, and both candidates and voters will be able to view the whole counting process.

Noting an increase in candidates and registered electors in this election, Justice Woo expected an exciting battle among candidates.

To date, the Government has received more than 2,700 complaints, an 80% increase from the same period in the last District Council Election in 1999.

The existence of many channels for lodging complaints will help monitor the election and ensure fairness, he said.

Get out to vote from 7.30am to 10.30pm

Justice Woo appealed to electors to cast their votes between 7.30am and 10.30pm at their designated polling stations tomorrow

Voting is simple. Just bring your Hong Kong identity card to your polling station. There, you will be given a chop bearing a "tick" to mark next to the name of your chosen candidate on the ballot paper.
