Officials mourn fallen policeman

*
Hong Kong Police

Senior officials have passed their deepest condolences to the family of traffic policeman Wong Kit-hong who succumbed tonight to serious injuries sustained in an accident in Tseung Kwan O on August 12.

Secretary for Security Ambrose Lee, Secretary for the Civil Service Joseph Wong, and Commissioner of Police Tsang Yam-pui said they were deeply grieved by his death.

Shortly before midnight on August 12, the 24-year-old officer was riding to an accident scene on Po Lam Road, when his motorcycle reportedly collided with a goods vehicle travelling on Po Fung Road.

The Government will render full support to help Mr Wong's family get over this difficult period.

He joined the Force in 1997. He is survived by his wife.
