*

Secretary for Education & Manpower Joseph Wong has paid tribute to former Secretary for Lands & Works Dr Chan Nai Keong who died May 9.

Praising Dr Chan's contribution during his 35-year Government service, Mr Wong said he was saddened to hear of his death.

"Dr Chan made a significant contribution to the formulation and improvement of lands and works policies and the planning and co-ordination of the physical development of [Hong Kong]," Mr Wong said.

"I would like to send my deepest condolences to Dr Chan's family."

Dr Chan served the Government from 1952 until his retirement in 1987. Since his retirement from the civil service, he continued to show keen interest in serving the community.
