The Government today announced that Henry Lai will assume the post of District Officer (Eastern) tomorrow, succeeding Simon Chan.

Mr Lai joined the Government in 2007 and served in the Executive Officer Grade before joining the Administrative Service in 2008.

He has served in various bureaus and departments, including the Labour & Welfare Bureau; the Home Affairs Department; the then Food & Health Bureau; the Hong Kong Economic, Trade & Cultural Office; the Development Bureau and the Commerce & Economic Development Bureau.

He was Assistant Commissioner for Tourism at the Culture, Sports & Tourism Bureau before taking up the new post.
