Light housing applications open

February 17, 2025

The Housing Bureau today announced that applications for Phase 2 Light Public Housing (LPH) units will be open from February 24.

Phase 2 of the LPH programme covers four projects – in Kai Tak, Tuen Mun, Kwun Tong and Sheung Shui – that will together provide a total of about 5,060 units. It is anticipated that intake of residents will begin, gradually, from the fourth quarter of this year.

Eligible applicants will receive, on or before February 24, application forms sent by the bureau, in batches, by post. Forms submitted between February 24 and March 17 will be handled with priority. Those who previously submitted a Phase 1 application do not need to submit another application.

The bureau said Phase 1 of the programme has received an overwhelming response, with about 14,200 applications having been received as of mid-February.

The Phase 1 LPH project at Yau Pok Road, Yuen Long is anticipated to be the first to begin intaking residents, by batches, next month.

Flats in the four Phase 2 projects will include units for one to two people, three to four people, and four to five people.

The one at Olympic Avenue, Kai Tak will provide about 2,970 units. The estimated monthly rent will range from about $1,310 to $2,990.

The project at Tsing Fuk Lane, Tuen Mun will provide about 1,850 units, with estimated monthly rents ranging from about $860 to $1,990.

About 130 units will be provided by the project at Shun On Road, Kwun Tong, where the estimated monthly rent will range from about $1,360 to $3,270.

Finally, the project at Choi Yuen Road, Sheung Shui will provide about 110 units, with estimated monthly rents ranging from about $1,020 to $2,320.
