Mentorship scheme ceremony held
A total of 4,000 graduates from the second cohort of the Strive & Rise Programme showcased their learning achievements to Government representatives, the business sector and the community during their graduation ceremony today.
Also at the function, held at the Kai Tak Arena, the graduates expressed gratitude to the mentors for their care and support.
While officiating at the ceremony, Chief Secretary Chan Kwok-ki said that the number of Mainland study and exchange tours organised for the programme increased to 19, covering not only neighbouring Shenzhen and Zhuhai but also places much farther away such as Sichuan, Yunnan and Hangzhou, which greatly enhanced mentees' understanding of the country's achievements in different fields.
In addition to noting that some of those who joined the first cohort have become youth leaders of the alumni club, Mr Chan pointed out that the confidence and ability they displayed in planning and organising activities fully demonstrated the immense benefits they gained from the programme.
The Chief Secretary encouraged the graduates to carry forward the knowledge and skills obtained from the programme to strive for success and improvement.
More than 150 mentors were also awarded at the ceremony for their participation in the programme, enabling the mentees to thrive and grow.
