Talk on China's good stories held
The Civil Service College today held a talk on the topic of "Telling Good Stories of China", delivered by Ministry of Foreign Affairs Department of Press, Communication & Public Diplomacy Deputy Director General Mao Ning.
The talk, jointly organised by the college and the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, is part of a series on the country's foreign affairs.
While addressing those gathered at the talk, Secretary for the Civil Service Ingrid Yeung said that Hong Kong has distinctive advantages under "one country, two systems", benefitting from both the strong support of the motherland and close connections to the world.
Apart from emphasising that Hong Kong not only has direct access to the vast Mainland market but also serves as a bridge linking the Mainland and the rest of the world, making it an international city full of opportunities, Mrs Yeung highlighted that the city has numerous success stories that demonstrate its national and international connectivity.
Additionally, she pointed out that civil servants play a crucial role in effective governance, and they should align with the Hong Kong SAR Government's initiatives to leverage community support to promote Hong Kong's advantages, achievements and opportunities worldwide, thereby showcasing to the international community the successful implementation of "one country, two systems" as part of China's story.
About 280 senior officials and civil servants in the directorate and senior ranks attended the talk.
