Secretary for Culture, Sports & Tourism Rosanna Law today congratulated Hong Kong's Siobhan Bernadette Haughey on winning a gold medal in the Women's 200m Freestyle at the 2024 World Aquatics Swimming Championships (25m) in Budapest.

Noting that Miss Haughey had once again triumphed in an international competition following her outstanding performance at the Paris Olympic Games this year, Miss Law said the Hong Kong swimmer had not only displayed extraordinary capabilities but had put the city's athletes in the global spotlight.

“We are very proud of her superb performance. Our thanks also go to her coaches and support team for their relentless hard work."
