Mainland higher education expo set

November 25, 2024

The Mainland Higher Education Expo 2025/26, jointly organised by the Ministry of Education and the Education Bureau, will be held at the Convention & Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai on November 30 and December 1.

The expo will provide students aspiring to pursue further studies on the Mainland and their parents with information on the arrangements of the Scheme for Admission of Hong Kong Students to Mainland Higher Education Institutions.

Of the 145 Mainland higher education institutions participating in the admission scheme, 139 will set up booths to tell visitors about their faculties, subjects and admission criteria. All participating Mainland higher education institutions will also set up virtual exhibition booths online.

Meanwhile, representatives from the Ministry of Education will be on site to explain the scheme's application procedures and admission details.

Furthermore, sharing sessions will be held during the expo, covering an introduction by representatives of Mainland institutions to the characteristics of individual programmes, study experiences of Hong Kong graduates, and analyses of career prospects by guest speakers.

Additionally, the Handbook on the Scheme for Admission of Hong Kong Students to Mainland Higher Education Institutions, compiled by the Education Bureau, the China Education Exchange (Hong Kong) Centre and Hok Yau Club, will be distributed free of charge at the expo.

The Scheme for Admission of Hong Kong Students to Mainland Higher Education Institutions accepts Hong Kong students based on their Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination results, thereby exempting them from taking the Joint Entrance Examination for Mainland Institutions and providing them with multiple study pathways and opportunities to connect with the country’s development.

Students who will sit for the HKDSE Examination in 2025 and are interested in furthering their studies on the Mainland can enrol through the Guangdong Education Examinations Authority between December 1 and 31.
