CE presents honours, awards
Chief Executive John Lee officiated at the 2024 Honours & Awards Presentation Ceremony held at Government House today.
Among the recipients, five received the Grand Bauhinia Medal, including Executive Council and Legislative Council member Martin Liao, and Prof Lau Siu-kai, an authoritative commentator on Mainland and Hong Kong affairs, as well as international politics.
Prof Lee Chack-fan, a renowned expert in geotechnical engineering and hydropower was also honoured, alongside entrepreneur Dr Peter Lee and community leader Lam Shu-chit.
In addition, 12 received the Gold Bauhinia Star and 24 received the Silver Bauhinia Star.
Furthermore, one Medal for Bravery (Silver) was posthumously awarded, while 14 citizens received the Distinguished Service Medal for the disciplined services and the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC), and 40 received the Bronze Bauhinia Star.
Forty-six people were awarded the Meritorious Service Medal for the disciplined services and the ICAC, 105 received the Medal of Honour and about 200 the Chief Executive's Commendation.
The 2024 Honours List was announced on July 1 and November 22.
