The Government announced today that the late Vinson So has been posthumously awarded the Medal for Bravery (Silver) by the Chief Executive in recognition of his act of gallantry and selflessness.

It made the announcement in the Government Gazette, pointing out that Mr So’s gallantry and selflessness were displayed in the sacrifice of his life for rescuing a person in the waters at Aberdeen Harbour near South Horizons in Ap Lei Chau on April 11.

The award will be presented at the 2024 Honours & Awards Presentation Ceremony later this month.
