San Tin Technopole committee meets
The Environmental Committee for the San Tin Technopole set up by the Civil Engineering & Development Department held its first meeting today to give advice on the plans for ecological mitigation/enhancement measures for the project.
The Director of Environmental Protection approved the Environmental Impact Assessment report for San Tin Technopole on May 17. The conditions attached to the approval include the establishment of the committee with a wide representation of stakeholders to advise on the plan’s preparation for ecological mitigation/enhancement measures and monitor the effectiveness of the measures.
The committee was established on September 27. Today's meeting discussed the proposed ecological measures for the San Tin Technopole, including wetland enhancement measures at Mai Po, Habitat Creation and Management Plan, as well as the design of Sam Po Shue Wetland Conservation Park.
