Health chief heads to Dongguan
Secretary for Health Prof Lo Chung-mau will lead a delegation to Dongguan today to attend the 6th Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Conference on Inheritance, Innovation & Development of Traditional Chinese Medicine, with a view to driving the construction of the Chinese medicine (CM) highlands in the bay area, and promoting exchanges and co-operation.
The conference is co-organised by the Traditional Chinese Medicine Bureau of Guangdong Province, the Health Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government (HHB), the Health Bureau of the Macao Special Administrative Region Government and the Dongguan Municipal People's Government.
Prof Lo will deliver a speech at the opening ceremony tomorrow morning.
He will also witness the signing of the Framework Agreement on Co-operation in CM Talent Cultivation between Guangdong and Hong Kong by the HHB and the Traditional Chinese Medicine Bureau of Guangdong Province as well as the signing of agreements on multiple GBA CM co-operation projects.
The health chief will return to Hong Kong tomorrow. During his absence, Under Secretary for Health Dr Libby Lee will be Acting Secretary.
