Views on racial discrimination sought

November 11, 2024

The Constitutional & Mainland Affairs Bureau today invited public views on the implementation of the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

The Hong Kong SAR Government is currently drafting the fourth report of the Hong Kong SAR under the convention and the report will be included as part of the periodic report to be submitted to the United Nations by the central government, the bureau explained.

To this end, the Hong Kong SAR Government has prepared an outline of the report to facilitate public comments. The outline of the report is available on the bureau’s website or can be obtained from the District Office Home Affairs Enquiry Centres.

People may write to the bureau via email, fax or mail by December 2 this year on the implementation of the convention in respect of the topics in the outline, or suggest any additional topics that they consider the bureau ought to include in the report of the Hong Kong SAR.

The bureau emphasised that it will consider the relevant comments received in drafting the report.
