Cheung Sha Wan site to be resumed

November 7, 2024

The Lands Department today posted notices, in accordance with the Lands Resumption Ordinance, for the resumption of land for an urban renewal project at Kim Shin Lane/Fuk Wa Street in Cheung Sha Wan.

The project was included in the Urban Renewal Authority's Business Plan for 2021-22, to help improve the area’s overall living environment.

A total of 836 private property interests will be resumed at the site, which has a gross area of about 7,452 sq m.

It will be redeveloped for residential use, including retail/commercial facilities, as well as underground ancillary parking and loading/unloading facilities.

The project will also provide an open space, fronting onto Cheung Wah Street, of about 750 sq m. Kim Shin Lane, within the site, will be permanently closed.

Affected interests will revert to the Government three months from the date of the land resumption notices being affixed.

Besides statutory compensation, eligible domestic property owners will be offered an ex-gratia home purchase allowance or a supplementary allowance.

Eligible domestic tenants will be offered rehousing or an ex-gratia allowance.

Eligible commercial property occupiers, including owners and tenants, may opt for an ex-gratia allowance in lieu of the right to claim statutory compensation for losses.
