Realising dreams:

Secretary for Housing and Housing Authority Chairman Winnie Ho (fourth right) leads an elderly fashion show.

Secretary for Housing and Housing Authority (HA) Chairman Winnie Ho today attended a National Day celebration event at the Domain shopping mall in Yau Tong, where she led an elderly fashion show featuring costumes rich in Chinese elements.

Under the theme of “dreams”, the event – which was hosted by the HA – included a stringed orchestral performance, “Dream on Stage” finals, the fashion show and an indoor drone show. It demonstrated pride in the development of the motherland through the building, pursuit and realisation of dreams, and in terms of looking towards the future.

In the fashion show, Ms Ho led 11 elderly people from different public housing estates as they paraded in costumes designed by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University's School of Fashion & Textiles.

Permanent Secretary for Housing and Director of Housing Rosanna Law and Under Secretary for Housing Victor Tai also appeared on the catwalk wearing traditional Chinese costumes.

The HA said it hoped the event would help members of the public to appreciate the unique charm of fine traditional Chinese culture.
