Bus events will mark National Day

September 19, 2024

The Transport Department will hold a bus parade and exhibition from October 19 to 22, featuring buses from the past and present to tell the story of Hong Kong’s bus services.

The event is the first of its kind to be held by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government and will form part of the city’s National Day celebrations.

On the morning of October 19, different types of bus models from the three franchised bus operators (FBOs) co-organising the event will depart from Victoria Park, Causeway Bay, bound for Central Ferry Piers, along Hong Kong Island’s northern shore.

Members of the public are invited to observe the buses’ progress along the route.

On the afternoon of the same day, a four-day show will begin on the soccer pitches of Victoria Park. It will showcase a number of retired and in-service buses, including newly introduced new-energy buses, and various kinds of bus service-related memorabilia.

The public will have the chance to view the various models and exhibits, and learn about the development of franchised bus services in the city over the past 75 years.

Admission is free for the bus show. The public may register and pre-book a time slot through Cityline from 11am tomorrow, on a first-come first-served basis. Each visitor will enter the show venue with a QR code.

Details of the bus parade will be announced at a later date. Visit the department’s website for updates.
