Rendering falls from wall in Tuen Mun

September 11, 2024

The Buildings Department has reported that a piece of rendering, measuring about 90cm by 90cm, has fallen from an external wall at Glorious Garden, Tuen Mun. It said no obvious danger to the overall building structure was detected.

The department immediately deployed staff to carry out a site inspection after being notified by Police at about 5.30pm that some tiles or rendering had fallen at the building’s carpark.

They found that a piece of rendering had fallen from an external wall, facing Lung Mun Road, on the fourth floor of the building’s podium.

Under instruction from the department, the building’s property management company immediately arranged for a contractor to erect temporary protective measures at the affected area.

They will also inspect the remaining parts of the external wall and remove any rendering that may come loose to ensure public safety.

The pavement area by the wall affected has been temporarily fenced off. The department said it will continue to follow up on the matter.
