Typhoon Yagi departs

The Hong Kong Observatory has downgraded the storm signal from No. 8 to No. 3, as Typhoon Yagi moves away from the city.

 

The No. 8 Northeast Gale or Storm Signal, issued at 6.20pm yesterday, was replaced by the Strong Wind Signal No. 3 at 12.40pm today.

 

The Hospital Authority said nine people have sought medical treatment at public hospitals due to typhoon-related injuries.

 

During the storm, the Fire Services Department, the 1823 Government Call Centre and the Leisure & Cultural Services Department received 75 reports, 41 reports and three reports of fallen trees, respectively.

 

The Drainage Services Department received one confirmed flooding case. In addition, the Government received one report of landslide.

 

Meanwhile, the Home Affairs Department opened 30 temporary shelters, at which 274 people sought refuge.
