Kevin Yeung starts Paris trip
Secretary for Culture, Sports & Tourism Kevin Yeung began his visit to Paris, France, by touring the Paris 2024 Paralympic Village and meeting the Hong Kong, China Delegation.
Mr Yeung met the Hong Kong athletes who have completed their competitions to learn about their Paralympic journey and share in the joy of the medallists. He then went to various venues to watch Hong Kong athletes competing in Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, including swimming, wheelchair fencing and boccia, and cheered for them.
Noting that the Paralympic Games is a high-level international competition held once every four years, the cultural chief highlighted the fact that the Hong Kong, China Delegation, with 23 athletes competing in eight events this year, has so far won six medals, two gold, three silver and one bronze.
Apart from stressing that such an achievement demonstrates the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government’s efforts to nurture athletes, Mr Yeung praised the athletes for their perseverance and expressed gratitude to the China Hong Kong Paralympic Committee, coaches and the medical team for their support.
He also expressed his hope that the Hong Kong athletes would continue to give their best for the remainder of the Paralympic Games and bring honour to Hong Kong.
