Chief Executive John Lee met Secretary of the CPC Jiangxi Provincial Committee Yin Hong at Government House today to exchange views on strengthening Hong Kong’s co-operation with Jiangxi.

Noting that Hong Kong and Jiangxi have been maintaining close economic and trade relations, Mr Lee said that Hong Kong is the largest source of external investment and an important trading partner for Jiangxi, as well as the main capital market for Jiangxi enterprises listed overseas.

The Chief Executive encouraged Jiangxi Province to leverage Hong Kong’s unique and dual roles in going global and attracting foreign investment, with a view to bringing its economic development to a higher level.

He added that the Hong Kong Economic & Trade Office in Wuhan will continue to serve as a bridge to promote exchanges and co-operation between Hong Kong and Jiangxi.

With more students choosing to pursue their studies in Jiangxi high schools in recent years, Mr Lee thanked Jiangxi Province, the schools and relevant organisations for their ongoing care and support for Hong Kong youths.

Furthermore, he stressed that the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government will continue to encourage young people in Hong Kong to explore development opportunities on the Mainland and integrate into China’s overall development, thereby contributing to the country and Hong Kong.
