HK team wins more medals

Chief Executive John Lee has expressed his heartfelt congratulations to Hong Kong boccia athlete Cheung Yuen and Hong Kong badminton athlete Chan Ho-yuen on winning silver at the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games.

 

Cheung Yuen nabbed a silver medal in the Women's Individual BC4 event.

      

Mr Lee said: "Cheung Yuen, who participated in the Paralympic Games for the first time, stayed resilient against the world's best athletes throughout the competitions and achieved an outstanding performance.”

 

“All Hong Kong people and I are proud of her," he added.

 

Chan Ho-yuen won a silver medal in the Men's Singles WH2 event. The Chief Executive praised him for demonstrating his outstanding skills and exceptional determination in the competition, eventually achieving his goal of getting a better result compared with the last Paralympic Games.

 

Secretary for Culture, Sports & Tourism Kevin Yeung also commended the athletes, saying all the athletes went all out and strived for excellence in the international sporting arena and their perseverance is worth learning.

 

The Hong Kong, China Delegation has so far won two gold, three silver and one bronze medal at the Paris Paralympic Games.
