New student health centre opens

September 2, 2024

The North District Student Health Service Centre (ND SHSC) began providing services from today at 9/F, North District Community Health Centre Building, on 3 Wai Wo Street in Sheung Shui.

Following the building’s completion, the centre – formerly the Shek Wu Hui Student Health Service Centre – has been renamed, the Department of Health explained.

All primary and secondary day school students who previously registered through their schools to receive 2024/25 annual health assessments at the Shek Wu Hui centre, will be able to have them at the new centre. Parents of students with scheduled appointments for services at the old centre have been notified, via schools and by text message, about the relocation.

The ND SHSC, nearly twice the size of the old centre, offers a more spacious and comfortable environment. It can serve about 34,000 students every school year, satisfying increased demand for student health services in North District.

In addition to the services which were previously provided at the Shek Wu Hui centre, the ND SHSC will offer optometry, audiology, dietetics, and clinical psychology services on a part-time basis.

Separately, the Centre for Health Protection announced that on September 6, its School Immunisation Teams’ North District Office will be relocated from 3/F, North District Government Offices Building to 9/F, North District Community Health Centre Building, to provide mop-up vaccination services for primary students. Parents of students who have made appointments have been informed of the new address.
