Mainland Olympians arrive in HK

The 2024 Paris Olympic Games Mainland Olympians delegation arrived in Hong Kong today, beginning a three-day visit.

 

Led by General Administration of Sport of China (GASC) Director Gao Zhidan and GASC Deputy Director Zhou Jinqiang, the delegation arrived in Hong Kong around noon.

 

The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government held a welcome ceremony at the airport. The delegation was greeted by Chief Secretary Chan Kwok-ki; Secretary for Culture, Sports & Tourism Kevin Yeung; Director of Leisure & Cultural Services Vincent Liu; Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong SAR Secretary General Wang Songmiao; and President of the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China Timothy Fok.

 

Delegation members were due to attend a welcome reception and banquet hosted by the Hong Kong SAR Government this evening. The public will be able to see the members up close at three public events scheduled for tomorrow and the day after – a gala show at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium, and two sports demonstrations at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium and the Victoria Park Swimming Pool.
