Subsidised flats to go on sale

August 27, 2024

The Housing Authority announced today that 7,132 new Home Ownership Scheme (HOS) flats will be put up for sale under the Sale of Home Ownership Scheme Flats 2024 (HOS 2024). Applications will open in the fourth quarter this year.

The flats are at Kai Ying Court in Kai Tak, On Pak Court in Kwun Tong, Ko Hei Court in Yau Tong, Yu Hing Court in Tung Chung, and Siu Wu Court in Tuen Mun, with saleable areas ranging from about 17.3 sq m to about 47.4 sq m.

The prices range from $1.43 million to $4.67 million, a 30% discount on current assessed market values.

The authority also announced that, in accordance with the 2023 Policy Address, a quota of about 40% of the new flats offered for sale under HOS 2024 will be reserved for balloting and priority selection by eligible applicants under the Priority Newborns Scheme and the Priority Scheme for Families with Elderly Members.

Furthermore, to give applicants in different application categories a reasonable chance to purchase flats in different developments, the Housing Authority has decided to set the quota on a project-by-project basis with reference to the number of flats in individual new HOS developments.

In each development, the quota for applicants under the Priority Newborns Scheme and the Priority Scheme for Families with Elderly Members is 40% of the number of flats, while the quota for one-person applicants is 10% of the number of flats. The order of priority for flat selection will be determined by the application category, quota allocation and ballot results.

Meanwhile, the White Form income and asset limits have been revised, in accordance with the established mechanism.

For families of two people and above, the income limit has been reduced from $62,000 per month to $60,000 per month, while the asset limit has been reduced from $1.47 million to $1.23 million. For one-person applicants, the income and asset limits have been lowered to $30,000 per month and $615,000.
