Secretary for Innovation, Technology & Industry Prof Sun Dong will depart today for Beijing, where he will call on relevant central ministries and institutions to discuss strengthening co-operation and exchange.

During his visit, Prof Sun will also attend the 2024 World Robot Conference, where he will take part in a dialogue session at its main forum, and the kick-off ceremony of the HICOOL 2024 Global Entrepreneur Summit.

Commissioner for Industry (Innovation & Technology) Ge Ming will join Prof Sun for part of the visit.

Prof Sun will return to Hong Kong in the afternoon of August 24.

During his absence, Under Secretary for Innovation, Technology & Industry Lillian Cheong will be Acting Secretary today. Secretary for Financial Services & the Treasury Christopher Hui will perform the role tomorrow and on the morning of August 23, and Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development Algernon Yau will do so in the afternoon of August 23 and the morning of August 24.
