The Lands Department today posted resumption notices to resume 632 private lots comprising a total area of about 65,100 sq m for the extension of Tung Chung New Town.

The land will be resumed under the Lands Resumption Ordinance, the Roads (Works, Use & Compensation) Ordinance and the Water Pollution Control (Sewerage) Regulation.
 

The 632 private lots to be resumed will provide land for the construction of public facilities and for road and sewerage works at the Tung Chung New Town Extension.
 

The lots will revert to the Government in three months’ time, on October 26. The Government will liaise closely with landowners and other parties concerned, and properly handle the relevant compensation matters.
 

The above-mentioned works will provide facilities for the public and serve anticipated traffic created by the development, while the sewerage works will improve sanitary conditions in Tung Chung West.
 

The works are expected to be completed in around six years.
