Chief Executive John Lee (centre) hosts one of three lunch meetings of the Chief Executive’s Council of Advisers to hear the views of members in advance of his forthcoming Policy Address.

Chief Executive John Lee chaired lunch meetings on July 22, 23 and today to listen to the views of his Council of Advisers in advance of the forthcoming Policy Address.

The three sessions were split between the three streams of the council’s membership: namely economic advancement and sustainability; innovation and entrepreneurship; and regional and global collaboration.

The three sessions were attended by, respectively, Chief Secretary Chan Kwok-ki, Financial Secretary Paul Chan and Acting Secretary for Justice Cheung Kwok-kwan. Director of the Chief Executive's Office Carol Yip and Head of the Chief Executive's Policy Unit Stephen Wong attended all of the meetings.

The advisers engaged in in-depth discussions on important issues pertaining to Hong Kong’s future development.

These include consolidating Hong Kong’s position as an international financial, shipping and trade centre amid economic restructuring and geopolitical changes, enhancing integration into the overall national development, and supporting innovation and technology through the attraction of capital and talent.

Mr Lee thanked the council members for attending the meetings despite their busy schedules, and for the insights and counsel they gave regarding the current situation and future development of Hong Kong.

“These are helpful for my preparation for the upcoming Policy Address,” he added.
