HKeToll auto-payment streamlined
To provide greater convenience to HKeToll users, the Transport Department announced today that it will simplify the automatic payment of tolls by credit card starting July 22.
For HKeToll users using credit card auto-payment, settling such payments will be streamlined from once per transaction to once per day, and the total fee will be collected in one go the following day.
The department explained that after using government-tolled tunnels each time, the user will receive a notification on the HKeToll mobile app stating that the toll transaction is being processed. On the following day, the system will also send a notification to confirm whether the total fee has been paid successfully.
Users can still check their detailed records of using government-tolled tunnels on the HKeToll website or app, the department noted.
It added that while the new arrangement will be selected by default for credit card auto-payment users, their payment and notification preferences can be customised by logging on to the HKeToll website or mobile app.
The existing arrangements for those using bank transfers and designated stored value accounts for auto-payments will remain unchanged.
