Free dental care scope extended

July 11, 2024

From July 16, the Healthy Teeth Collaboration that provides free dental services for eligible adults aged 18 or above with intellectual disabilities will be extended to include those with an autism spectrum disorder, the Department of Health announced today.

Eight non-governmental organisation dental clinics will provide free dental care services, including oral check-ups, dental treatments and oral health education. In addition, the service of the operating theatres of Gleneagles Hospital will be engaged when needed.

Applicants under the Healthy Teeth Collaboration must be 18 or above with an intellectual disability or an autism spectrum disorder, and hold a document which certifies the disability category as intellectual disability, mental handicap or autism spectrum disability.

Those eligible may enrol at one of the participating dental clinics.
