Secretary for Environment & Ecology Tse Chin-wan was due to depart for Beijing this afternoon to attend the second High-level Conference of the Forum on Global Action for Shared Development.

During his stay in the capital, Mr Tse will call on the Hong Kong & Macao Affairs Office of the State Council, the Ministry of Ecology & Environment and the National Energy Administration to continue work on strengthening co-operation.

He will also visit the Chinese Academy of Sciences’ Earth System Science Numerical Simulator Facility to learn about the country’s latest advancements in areas such as combating climate change and atmospheric environmental management.

Mr Tse will return to Hong Kong on the evening of July 13. During his absence, Under Secretary for Environment & Ecology Diane Wong will be the Acting Secretary.
