The Leisure & Cultural Services Department’s Music Office is recruiting students for its Outreach Music Interest Courses, which provide training in Chinese and Western musical instruments.

Two new classes have been added to the course. Those enrolling for the Introduction to Handpan Playing course will learn the correct posture and basic techniques required to play the handpan, as well as how to read numbered musical notations and musical staffs.

Another new class, Keyboard Playing (Numbered Musical Notation), will teach participants numbered musical notation, melody and simple chords.

The courses will start in September and run until February 2025. ​They will be conducted in Cantonese at venues throughout Hong Kong.

The application deadline is July 25.
