Secretary for Culture, Sports & Tourism Kevin Yeung today expressed sadness over the passing of renowned composer and music educator Yip Wai-hong and extended his deepest condolences to Mr Yip’s family.
 
Mr Yeung said that Mr Yip devoted his life to musical composition and made significant contributions to children's music education in particular, nurturing many music talents.
 
He noted that the Hong Kong Children's Choir and Pan Asia Symphony Orchestra, founded by Mr Yip, have made remarkable achievements.
 
Mr Yeung added that Mr Yip is an exemplar among Hong Kong artists.
 
“His passing is our loss and we will fondly remember him."
