The Government today welcomed organiser Tatler Asia’s decision to offer 50% refunds to those who purchased tickets for last weekend’s football match between Hong Kong and Inter Miami CF through its official sales channels. 

The Government commented that the compensation option is a responsible and positive act by the organiser, demonstrating a sense of commitment to customers.
 

It added that the organiser had responded to demands from various sectors of the community with sincerity.

Noting that various sectors may still have queries about the episode – particularly with regard to Messi not playing in the match due to injury but being able to participate in a match in Japan three days later – the Government expressed its hope that Inter Miami CF will offer an explanation to the people of Hong Kong and to the fans who travelled to the city for the match.
