New HIV testing website launched
The Department of Health today launched a new Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) Testing Service website that makes it more convenient for members of the public to undergo HIV tests.
The new site replaces the original AIDS Hotline website. While retaining the old site’s function of allowing users to make reservations with the AIDS Counselling & Testing Services, it also now allows them to order HIV self-test kits.
The kits, which include oral fluid-based and blood-based testing kits, can be collected at various pick-up locations around Hong Kong.
Registrants only need to provide a mobile phone number and an email address for receiving confidential messages about their results.
Registered users who wish to order a test are required to make an on-hold payment of $130. This fee is cancelled within 14 days of the order being placed, once the test result is uploaded to the website. Users only need to pay for the delivery fee.
The new website also provides information on HIV/AIDS testing, prevention and treatment and offers a clear and user-friendly interface for users to make reservations for the department’s AIDS Counselling & Testing Services.
The site’s HIV/AIDS information is available in abridged version in six languages other than Chinese and English.
