The Government today announced that the physical office of Hong Kong Talent Engage (HKTE) will be formally established on October 30 with Anthony Lau as its Director.

An initiative unveiled by the Chief Executive in the Policy Address, HKTE will provide support for incoming talent, formulate talent attraction strategies and follow up on their development and needs after arrival.

HKTE will collaborate with organisations and stakeholders in various sectors to attract global talent with diverse backgrounds to come and settle in Hong Kong and develop their careers with a view to contributing to the city’s long-term development.

The Government said Mr Lau served as Tourism Board Executive Director from 2007 to 2019 and held key positions in different business entities with significant contributions to the promotion of the Hong Kong brand.

He will lead HKTE to go all out to trawl for and retain talent to raise Hong Kong's competitiveness, it added.
