HK bridge team wins gold medal
Secretary for Culture, Sports & Tourism Kevin Yeung today congratulated the Hong Kong, China delegation on winning a gold medal in the men's bridge team event at the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou.
The medal is the eighth gold won by Hong Kong, China competitors at this year's games, tying a record of eight golds won at the last Asian Games in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Mr Yeung said: “Chiu Wai-lap, Ho Hoi-tung, Ho Wai-lam, Lai Wai-kit, Mak Kwok-fai and Sze Shun-sum outperformed other competitors and captured a gold medal. They delivered the goods and started a new chapter for the Hong Kong, China delegation. The eighth gold medal did not come easy.
“We are overjoyed and applaud for (the) Hong Kong, China team's victory.”
The Hong Kong team has so far won 53 medals, comprising eight golds, 16 silvers and 29 bronzes, at this year's Asian Games.
