Naturally 7 to exhibit vocal charm
American a cappella group Naturally 7 will perform in Great Music 2023 in late September, presenting not only classics and film songs, but also new works created for this Hong Kong tour, using their “vocal play” technique.
Founded in 1999, Naturally 7 has been taking the world by storm with their unique form of “vocal play”. Apart from performing a cappella, the singers transform their voices into instruments like drums, guitars, harmonicas, trombones and even DJ scratching to create an ensemble, while adopting rap and R&B elements.
The group won the Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards, a significant prize in the a cappella world, and has put on more than 1,000 shows across five continents in over 30 countries and regions.
In addition to sharing the stage with pop artists and groups including Michael Bublé and Coldplay, Naturally 7 has been invited to perform at some of the world’s biggest show such as the Vancouver Winter Olympics in 2010 and the Best FIFA Football Awards ceremony in 2017.
A Cappella Concert by Naturally 7 will be held at 8pm on September 28 at Hong Kong City Hall’s Concert Hall. Tickets are now available at URBTIX.
.
Furthermore, a workshop entitled Vocal Infinity will be held at 7.30pm on September 27 at Hong Kong City Hall’s Recital Hall. As speakers of the talk, members of Naturally 7 will introduce the development of the group and demonstrate their “vocal play” skills.
