Park on golf site opens Sep 1

August 23, 2023

A park located east of Fan Kam Road in Fanling Golf Course will open for public use starting at 3pm on September 1, the Leisure & Cultural Services Department announced today.

The park, on the old course of the Fanling golf site, provides an inclusive park for pets, a walking trail, two five-a-side hard-surface soccer pitches, and areas to be opened in phases at later stages.

The pets park, at the park’s northern end, will be open from 7am to 6pm, while the walking trail will be open from 7am to 9pm.

As the surface of the soccer pitches is damaged and in an undesirable state, maintenance and renovation works will be conducted immediately once the area is taken over by the department on September 1.

The facilities will be open for public use later this year when the works are completed.

To facilitate the holding of two international golf tournaments at Fanling Golf Course, the park will be temporarily closed between September 11 and November 15.

Meanwhile, the fee-charging carpark will not be open for public use from October 2 to 9 and November 6 to 13 during the course of the tournaments.

Visitors to the park can walk from Exit B1 of the Sheung Shui MTR Station in about 20 minutes, or take various bus and minibus routes to get there. They can also use the fee-charging public carpark at the park.
