COVID-19 jab services to be adjusted
The Government today announced that further adjustments will be made to the COVID-19 vaccination service arrangements and venues starting from the end of this month to align with the updated COVID-19 vaccination arrangement in the new phase of resumption of normalcy.
It made the changes to sustain sufficient capacity to cater for public demand while ensuring the cost-effectiveness of the arrangements.
The service adjustment assists individuals who opt for an additional vaccine booster as well as Hong Kong residents aged six months or above and have never been infected with COVID-19 to receive the first three doses of vaccine.
The children community vaccination centre located at the Yan Chai Hospital COVID-19 Vaccination Station will provide services up to April 28.
The community vaccination stations at Lai Chi Kok Park, Wong Tai Sin Temple Square, Java Road Playground, and the open space outside Yuen Long Leisure & Cultural Building will provide services up to May 15, while the community vaccination centres at Gleneagles Hospital Hong Kong and CUHK Medical Centre will provide services up to May 31.
The online booking website of the Government COVID-19 Vaccination Programme will also continue to operate to enable the public to make appointments for COVID-19 jabs.
The Government plans to cease the Indemnity Fund for Adverse Events Following Immunization with COVID-19 Vaccines alongside the cancellation of the emergency use regime. It is closely monitoring the progress of COVID-19 vaccine registration and available data on the safety of the vaccines to determine the timetable for ending the fund.
Hong Kong has entered the influenza season. The seasonal flu vaccination coverage rate for toddlers aged six months to below two years was only 8% as of April 10. The Government calls on parents to arrange vaccination for their children without delay to reduce the risk of infected children falling seriously ill.
The COVID-19 vaccination programme's online booking website allows people to make appointments for co-administration of the COVID-19 vaccine and seasonal flu vaccine.
