Secretary for Home & Youth Affairs Alice Mak arrived in Singapore this afternoon to start her visit.

Calling on the People’s Association, Miss Mak and the association’s Chief Executive Director Jimmy Toh exchanged views on matters including the development of community networks, enhancement of social cohesion and provision of local services.

She was briefed by the association on Singapore’s experience in connecting with the community through platforms such as community development councils and community clubs, while Miss Mak also shared Hong Kong’s work on district governance with the association.

Meanwhile, YDC youth ambassadors who joined the trip visited Lau Pa Sat and the Helix Bridge today to learn about local historical architectural features. This is the first international youth exchange programme organised by the Home & Youth Affairs Bureau after the gradual resumption of overseas travel with quarantine exemption.
