CE to meet state leaders

Chief Executive John Lee announced that he will conduct a duty visit to Beijing from December 21 to December 24 to brief state leaders on Hong Kong’s latest economic, social and political situation.
While fielding questions from the media ahead of this morning’s Executive Council meeting, Mr Lee explained that during the visit, he plans to reveal Hong Kong's status in all regards, including what has been done to control COVID-19 and the city's strategy on maintaining economic vitality.
He said: “To have an opportunity to report face-to-face and then make a direct response to questions that may be raised by the leaders will help explain the Hong Kong situation more thoroughly.”
Director of the Chief Executive’s Office Carol Yip and Private Secretary to the Chief Executive Priscilla To will join the visit.
During Mr Lee’s absence, Chief Secretary Chan Kwok-ki will be Acting Chief Executive.
