Chief Executive John Lee today started his visit programme in Bangkok, Thailand to attend Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) activities.

Upon arrival, Mr Lee met Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha. Noting that Hong Kong has been actively seeking to join the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership and had formally lodged the accession request in January, he appealed for Thailand's support.

The Chief Executive also met Ambassador Extraordinary & Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Kingdom of Thailand Han Zhiqiang.
