Policy Address consultation held

Chief Secretary Chan Kwok-ki attended a consultation session today to listen to the views and suggestions of post-secondary students on the first Policy Address of the new-term Government.
Secretary for Education Choi Yuk-lin, Permanent Secretary for Education Michelle Li, Under Secretary for Constitutional & Mainland Affairs Clement Woo and Under Secretary for Home & Youth Affairs Clarence Leung also attended the session.
It was held at the Education Bureau Kowloon Tong Education Services Centre with more than 80 students from various post-secondary education institutions and under the Diploma Yi Jin as well as the Hong Kong Scholarship for Excellence Scheme taking part.
The session covered a range of topics including education, youth development, social mobility and opportunities from national developments. More than 40 students expressed their views and suggestions to the attending officials.
Mr Chan thanked the students for participating in the consultation session and actively expressing their views and suggestions on the Policy Address to be delivered by the Chief Executive on October 19.
He noted that young people are the future, hope and pillars of Hong Kong, and also the engine that drives the long-term development of society and the economy.
“We attach great importance to their views and suggestions, and keenly look forward to joining hands with young people in starting a new chapter for Hong Kong,” Mr Chan added.
