The tender for a logistics site in Kwai Chung has been awarded on a 50-year land grant at a premium of $5.256 billion, the Lands Department announced today.

Kwai Chung Town Lot No. 531 at the junction of Mei Ching Road and Container Port Road South in Kwai Chung was awarded to Sunrise Victory, a subsidiary of ESR Group.

It has a site area of about 55,245 sq m and is designated for logistics services and public vehicle park purposes.

The maximum gross floor area that may be attained is 138,000 sq m for developing multi-storey modern logistics facilities and a public vehicle park to have multiple purposes within the site.

The Transport & Logistics Bureau said the positive market response to the tender exercise for the site reflects the trade's demand for logistics land.

The Government will continue to identify more suitable sites for the development of multi-storey modern logistics facilities to promote modern logistics development progressively, the bureau added.
