Free use of LCSD facilities on July 1

June 11, 2022

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Leisure & Cultural Services Department will open most of its leisure facilities for free use by the public on July 1.

The fee-charging facilities to be made available for free use on that day cover indoor and outdoor leisure facilities, public swimming pools and craft at water sports centres.

From 7am on June 25 onwards, bookings can be made via the Leisure Link booking counters at the department venues and Internet booking on first come, first served basis for the free use of the leisure facilities that are not taken up by block bookings on July 1.

The Leisure Link booking counter services at Tuen Mun Recreation & Sports Centre and water sports centres/holiday camps will start from 7.30am and 8.30am.

Each person can only book one free session irrespective of the type of leisure facility. Overbooking will be declined automatically by Leisure Link.

No prior booking is required for public swimming pool facilities. People may line up at the entrances of the swimming pools for free admission on first-come, first served basis.

Users of the leisure facilities have to observe the conditions set by the department. The hirers should arrive on time and make the best use of the booked facilities.

If a hirer fails to take up a booked session 10 minutes after the starting time, the facility will immediately be reallocated to walk-in participants on first come, first served basis. The facility shall be used for the purpose for which it had been booked by the original hirer, and the facility should be surrendered to the original hirer immediately upon his /her arrival.
