The Government today announced that 28 preliminary positive COVID-19 cases were detected in the restricted areas in two housing blocks of Mei Tin Estate in Sha Tin.

Mei King House and Mei Chi House were covered in a restriction-testing declaration on February 6 and the period of the operation was extended to today. People in the restricted areas were required to stay in their premises and undergo two virus tests.

The compulsory testing exercise finished before 10am with a total of 8,040 people being tested.

Thirteen preliminary positive COVID-19 cases were found in Mei King House and 15 preliminary positive cases were detected in Mei Chi House.

The Centre for Health Protection will follow up on each of the cases.
